How is All-on-X treatment planned?
All-on-X is a rehabilitation concept for fully edentulous jaws in which the prosthetic restoration is supported by a predetermined number of dental implants. The X indicates the number of implants that will support the future restoration; this is determined individually for eachpatient according to the quantity and quality of the available bone.
All-on-X is not a universal solution for every patient. The decision to use this type of treatment is made only after thorough diagnostics and an assessment of whether it represents the best long-term solution for the individual case.
What type of prosthetic restoration can be made?
Depending on the clinical findings, either an implant-supported removable denture with a maximally reduced base or a fixed bridge can be made,provided the appropriate conditions are present.
What determines the long-term outcome?
The success of this type of treatment depends not only on the number of implants placed, but also on careful planning and respect for the biological principles of healing. Treatment is therefore carriedout in clearly defined stages, allowing sufficient time to achieve a stable, functional and aesthetic long-term result.
