Oral Surgery

The thought of oral surgery causes anxiety for most people. This is completely understandable. However, it is important to know that oral surgery is not performed because it is anyone’s first choice, but because at that particular time it is the best way to resolve the problem and prevent more serious complications.

When we recommend surgery, it means we have determined that it is the best solution for your health.

What does oral surgery include?

Oral surgery includes much more than complex tooth extractions. It covers the surgical removal of impactedwisdom teeth, treatment of cysts, apicoectomies, surgical preparation for implant treatment, regenerative procedures and otherinterventions aimed at preserving or restoring oral health.

Every procedure has a clear indication and is carefully planned according to the patient’s condition.

Does oral surgery hurt?

Nearly every patient asks this question.

Oral surgery procedure

No. All oral surgery procedures are performed under local anaesthesia, which means the procedure itself is painless.

However, that does not mean it is always comfortable. During the procedure, you may feel pressure, tissue being moved or vibrations from the instruments, but no pain. Swelling, sensitivity and discomfort may occur afterwards; these are expected and temporary responses to surgery. The patient receives clear instructions to make this period as easy and safe as possible.

When do we recommend surgery?

We recommend surgery whenever we determine that it is the best solution for your health. If the problem can beresolved with conservative treatment, we will always propose that approach.

When surgery becomes necessary, our aim is to ensure that the procedure is carefully planned, performed precisely and as comfortable as possible for the patient.

Treatment does not end with the procedure

Proper healing is just as important as the operation itself. That is why, after every procedure, we monitor recovery, schedule follow-up appointments and remain available if the patient has any questions or concerns.

We want you to feel safe throughout the treatment process and to know that you are not on your own.
